Privacy Policy

Toolzami's tools run in your browser. What you type, paste or open in a tool is processed on your device and is never sent to us. This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit toolzami.com, why, for how long, and which rights you have.

Who is responsible

Toolzami ("we", "us") is operated from Türkiye. We are the data controller for the processing described here, under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Türkiye's Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK). You can reach us at support@toolzami.com.

What you enter in a tool

Text you type or paste, files you open and the results a tool produces are handled by code running in your browser, sometimes in a background thread. They are not uploaded, not stored by us, not added to page addresses and not included in any analytics. They are gone when you close or reload the page, unless you copy or download them yourself.

Browser extensions you install can usually read the pages you visit. What they do is outside our control.

What your browser keeps

The site remembers your theme and the options you choose in a tool by storing them in your browser. These settings stay on your device and are never sent to us. The Cookie Policy lists each item and how to remove it.

Server logs

Like every website, our servers receive your IP address with each request in order to send the response. Our web server does not write it to its access log. For each request, the log records:

  • the date and time
  • the request method, such as GET
  • the page or file requested, without any query string
  • the response status code
  • the size of the response
  • how long the response took
  • the user agent your browser sends, which names the browser and operating system

It does not record your IP address, the page that linked to us or the query string of the address. We use these logs to keep the site running and secure, for example to find errors and broken links and to recognize attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)). Logs are kept only as long as these purposes need, and then deleted.

Your consent choices

Where the law requires your consent for analytics or advertising, a message from Google's consent management platform (Google Privacy & messaging) asks for it on your first visit. Your choices are stored in cookies on toolzami.com, so the message does not return on every page. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with "Privacy and cookie settings" at the bottom of every page; withdrawing does not affect processing that happened before.

Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to learn which tools are used and where they fail. Without your consent, its script is not loaded at all. It receives:

  • the pages you view, with no query string except campaign tags such as utm_source;
  • events such as using, copying from or downloading from a tool, with the tool's name, the outcome, an error code if there was one and the size range of the input, never the input itself;
  • searches on the site, only when the search term matches the name of one of our tools;
  • the page that linked to us, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device, browser and screen size.

Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart; the Cookie Policy lists them. Google processes this data on our behalf, in the United States and other countries, under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. We keep it for 2 months. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); KVKK Art. 5(1)).

Advertising

Toolzami shows ads from Google AdSense. To show and measure ads and to protect them against fraud, Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar identifiers and receive information such as your IP address, the page you are on and your browser. They may use the cookies to show you ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Türkiye, ads are personalized only with your consent. Otherwise you see ads that are not personalized. For personalized advertising, Google acts as an independent controller under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab), and processes data in the United States and other countries.

How Google uses information from sites that use its services (opens in a new tab) explains Google's part. You can manage personalized Google ads in My Ad Center (opens in a new tab), and opt out of some other companies' personalized ads at aboutads.info (opens in a new tab).

When you email us

If you write to support@toolzami.com, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach, and use them only to answer you, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)). Our email provider processes them on our behalf. We keep messages only as long as needed to answer you and to handle any follow-up.

Hosting and other recipients

Our hosting provider processes the technical data needed to deliver the site on our behalf. We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the providers this policy names, or when the law requires us to.

For data that leaves Türkiye, we use the safeguards KVKK Art. 9 allows, such as standard contracts. For data that leaves the EEA or the United Kingdom, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. We hold very little of it: the access logs cannot be linked to you, so most requests will concern emails you sent us.

  • EU, EEA and United Kingdom (GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdrawal of consent at any time. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
  • Türkiye (KVKK Art. 11): to learn whether your data is processed and request information about it; to learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used for it; to know the third parties it is transferred to in Türkiye or abroad; to request its correction, deletion or destruction and that third parties be told of it; to object to a result against you that arises only from automated analysis; and to claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.
  • US states with consumer privacy laws: to know, correct and delete your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising, which you can do with "Cookie settings". We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

To use your rights, write to support@toolzami.com. We answer within 30 days and free of charge, unless the law allows a fee. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. If you are in Türkiye and our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Board (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurulu).

Children

Toolzami is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
